As Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, we are able to draw upon a number of different treatments. However, the main treatment is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as this is the treatment recommended by NICE. Treatment is short-term and in our experience clients usually see significant improvement by 12 sessions.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy is the treatment of choice by NICE (who oversee the provision of healthcare in the UK). CBT involves looking at how our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behaviours influence our lives.
We can undertake assessment of all adult psychological difficulties and can also provide specialist assessment of child mental health and other presentations, including autism.
As psychologists, we have a vast experience of a number of different therapies and we can use particular ones depending on your particular problem or wish. This includes couples counselling, Compassion-fucosed therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy, systemic therapy, schema focused therapy and many more.
