Terms and Conditions

In this document references to “we”, “us” and “our”are to Dr Stuart Psychologists. References to “our Website” or “the Website” are to www.drstuartpsychologists.com

Treatment Terms & Conditions

Payments

Payments for the sessions will be taken on the day of therapy, or within 24 hours of appointment via GoCardless, our payments provider. If you wish to pay for the sessions through a different method, this is required prior to the commencement of the session.

Payment System

We use GoCardless as our payment system.  Payment for your appointment will be taken as a direct debit a few days after your appointment.  The pay reference will appear on your bank statement as "Dr J Stuart" followed by your unique reference number.

 

Your are required to complete a form to set up GoCardless prior to your first session - this takes less than two minutes to complete.

Fees
(unless otherwise agreed)

Individual therapy - £200 per hour for Dr Stuart and £150 per hour for other psychologists.

Couples therapy - £150 per hour.

Telephone or video conference are charged at the same rate.

Policy for cancellations and missed appointments

Please contact us as soon as possible to let us know if you would like to cancel an appointment. All appointments should be cancelled with 24 hours-notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours-notice before the appointment, or non-attended appointments, without any prior notice, will be charged at the full price.

 

Please note: if you are paying through insurance, this will be charged to your insurance company and may reduce the amount of sessions that are available to you. We will provide you with as much notice as possible if we need to cancel/reschedule one of your appointments.

Insurance policies

If you intend to use private healthcare insurance and your insurance policy does not cover the full cost of each session, you may be responsible for the payment of any fees not covered by your policy. Please check this with your insurance company.  Generally, this will involve the payment of your excess fee or a top-up fee if your insurance does not cover all of the fees, paid directly to us to cover particular sessions. We will inform you of any unsettled fees.

Confidentiality

All information discussed within therapy will be treated as confidential, unless we are concerned that either yourself, or someone that you know, is at risk of being harmed. All recorded information will be kept securely and we will ensure the utmost confidentiality in the treatment of any such information. We abide by the boundaries of confidentiality as outlined within the Code of Ethics of the British Psychological Society and the Data Protection Act 1998. Any disclosure to third parties of your information will only occur with the prior informed consent of yourself.

Tape Recording

It is a requirement of particular professional bodies that psychologists tape record some sessions for discussion during supervision. The associate will ask you if they wish to record a particular session. If a session is recorded, then it would be deleted as soon as it has been discussed. If this is something you would prefer not to take place please let us know.

Acceptance of terms

You agree that you shall not use the Website for illegal purposes, and will respect all applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to use the website in a way that may impair the performance, corrupt the content or otherwise reduce the overall functionality of the Website. You also agree not to compromise the security of the Website or attempt to gain access to secured areas or sensitive information.

You agree to be fully responsible for any claim, expense, liability, losses, costs including legal fees incurred by us arising from any infringement of the terms and conditions set out in this agreement.

Modification

We reserve the right to change any part of this agreement without notice and your use of the Website will be deemed as acceptance of this agreement. We advise users to regularly check the Terms and Conditions of this agreement.

 

We have complete discretion to modify or remove any part of this site without warning or liability arising from such action.

Limitation of Liability

We will under no circumstance be liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages including any loss of business, revenue, profits, or data in relation to your use of the Website.

Nothing within this Agreement will operate to exclude any liability for death or personal injury arising as result of the negligence of Dr Stuart Psychologists, it’s employees or agents.

Copyright

All intellectual property of Ours such as trademarks, trade names, patents, registered designs and any other automatic intellectual property rights derived from the aesthetics or functionality of the Website remain the property of Dr Stuart Psychologists.


By using the Website you agree to respect the intellectual property rights of Dr Stuart Psychologists and will refrain from copying, downloading, transmitting, reproducing, printing, or exploiting for commercial purpose any material contained within the Website.

Disclaimers

The information is provided on the understanding that the website is not engaged in rendering advice and should not be wholly relied upon when making any related decision.

If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck out and the remaining provisions shall remain in force.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Agreement will be governed by the laws of England and any user of the Website hereby agrees to be bound exclusively by the jurisdiction of English courts without reference to rules governing choice of laws.
